DMY Berlin 2008
INTERNATIONAL DESIGN FESTIVAL
21. - 25. MAY 2008
Dear All,
with this message I'd like to inform you about the International Design Festival in Berlin (May 21st - 25th, 2008).
The annual May Design Festival in Berlin (formerly known as 'Designmai') has undegone an organisational reform in late January 2008.
By appointment of the Senate of Berlin, DMY Berlin will from now on serve as the official festival organising entity from now on.
Accordingly, the festival has been re-named to DMY Berlin - International Design Festival.
I've joined the organising staff in mid-February as exhibition manager,
and would like to seize the opportunity to inform you about the various participation opportunities the Festival offers.
In 2008, DMY International Design festival is in it's 6th turn.
We'll be having a central exhibition hall stretching over 7000 sqm and will be presenting more than 150 designers, covering the full spectrum from product design to interior and arts objects.
It's a fully curated exhibition showcasing new tendencies, experiments and innovations with approx. 15.000 visiting guests.
Besides that, we'll be having satellite events all-over Berlin showcasing more established and renowned designers of national and international origin.
There will be approx. 20-30 self-curated and/or themed special exhibitions, group shows and open studios / galeries.
Besides that, a whole range of workshops, lectures and panels will be organized.
Also, a comprehensive night program will take place with club nights at the main exhibition grounds as well as in selected participating Berlin clubs.
We will be glad to welcome you in Berlin this either as an exhibitor or a visitor,
and would like to keep you informed about the festival and future exhibition plans.

On this occasion I'd like to inform you about the state of the CEE design research project.
Production efforts have been interrupted by the Milan-based organizers in late 2006, until this date without further resumption.
To my present knowledge I can not forsee any renewed efforts from the organizers' side anytime soon.

The Design/Management Europe 12 conference is fast approaching! Design can be a linking force, a unifying element across the enterprise, a connection between business, culture, and environment. Design and design thinking are becoming increasingly important contributors to organizational success.
